Why
Gozo?
Very
good question! But only if you've never been! Let's put it this way, if
you want loud clubs, high rise buildings, crowds of holiday makers, or
a REALLY long flight, then Gozo probably isn't for you! On the other
hand, if you want paradise within a 3 hour plane journey from the UK or Germany,
tranquility, magnificent unspoiled scenery, the best diving in
the Med, superb food and the most amazingly friendly people and a
typical Mediterranean
climate, then Gozo is a good choice! |

Gozo is a small island, just 9 miles by 5, situated off the northern coast of Malta, but in some respects, the two couldn't be more different. Gozo is rightly proud of it's determination to be "different" and very protective of it's unique environment. and cautious of over development. The size of the island however belies the wealth of things to see and do! There are dozens of enchanting deserted coves to explore with crystal clear azure water. If you want a sandy beach there are the famous red sands of Ramla Bay or you could take a day trip over to the Blue Lagoon on Comino.
| Gozo is an ancient place. Said to be the setting for Homer's Odyssey, there are a wealth of archaeological sites to investigate, from Neolithic temples, via the Phoenicians and Romans, to the Crusaders. There are the caves of Xhagra, the nature reserve at Ta Cenc, numerous country walks where you can explore the island's unique flora, folklore and maritime museums, the busy market towns of Xhagra and Victoria, windmills, the craft village at Gharb, and a positive plethora of baroque churches! |

And then there's the diving! Gozo has the best diving in the Mediterranean, bar none! An abundance of marine flora and fauna, combined with the warm clear water (min 16 degrees and often more than 40m visibility) and wreck diving makes this an unique experience. You may even find an archaeological artifact! We have a relationship with St Andrew's Diving Centre in Xlendi. Or you could hire a boat and explore....or sit by the pool, with a gin and tonic......
